I am a peach/coral hues freak when it comes to blushes that my aunt gotten me this wonderful NYX Rouge Cream Blush for me. I have never used any in cream-texture like for blushes so I am quite excited when she handed it to me. I heard about NYX's cosmetics on YouTube over and over that I finally got my hands on some of their stuff. I have only tried their Round Lipsticks and Powder Blush but I would rave on the former as I get compliments using Snow White but trust me, any skin color can pull off this lipstick!

Size : 3.5g

I chose Tickled, some say it is a dupe of Orgasm. I have swatched Orgasm but I wasn't impressed.
It's texture is very smooth and creamy, not too heavy and it looks so natural when swatched. What I enjoy about this blush is that it's so easy to blend but I am not a shimmer fan but I kinda got over it.
Price wise, it is very affordable (135,000 rupiah= RM39) but I think in Indonesia it is slightly more expensive than online stores and Sephora Malaysia.
3.5g is fairly a lot for this sugar, I say this will last me a long time prolly even a year!
Packaging looks very cheap and plastic, not providing a mirror do suck.

Swatches :

It is very pigmented so I say it is suitable for most skin colors especially fair and tan.
It can last up to 6 hours without fail.
I am combination skin or sometimes oily so I say this lasts way longer than Benefit's powder blushes.

Verdict :
Will I repurchase? Yes, probably purchase more colors soon.
It's very affordable, durable and cruelty-free.
I wish they didn't have any shimmer though.

Till then,
x

Fall in love with Minerals again. Avon has done it again with their new range of Skin Goodness Minerals collection that consists of foundation, pressed powder and loose powder.
The question would be : What is the difference with an average foundation?
It is 100% naturally derived nutrient-rich mineral blend such as vitamin-enriched formula that helps to provide buildable coverage while letting your inner beauty shine through. It is even better that it has better sun protection and better coverage. With formulation of Amethyst and Malachite, the Skin Goodness Minerals helps to improve skin clarity. Within a week, your complexion will look healthier and more radiant without makeup on.
Best part is that it is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive ones.

A few years ago, they had a range of it too except a loose powder foundation, blushers and eye shadows. Now they have expand with foundation, loose powder, pressed powder and blushers.

FYI I have a combination skin, I have no reaction to whatsoever brand (thank goodness!) and I thought the description gave me a slight of hope to improve my skin to look more radiant in a week so yeah - why not?

The first is the Healthy Minerals Loose Powder, 6g RM29.90
Blend for a fresh, flawless matte look.

Color: Light Ochre

When I first observed the loose powder, it's very shimmery and the texture is so fine as they promised. I was slight worried about its' coverage since it's extremely fine and it freaking has shimmer so I was worried my face will have a shine-fest! I am always a matte person so I tolerate none whatsoever.

Look at this! It's so gold-ish hue and for a minute I thought I am going to use a gold eye shadow all over my face but once you blend all over, you will see a matte look as promised. Pictures will be at the end. Coverage-wise, medium because I am living in a humid country and most of the time, my makeup melt after a few hours but yesterday I tried walking in the sun for the whole day : It did not just melt but I had to blot as I was sweating all urgh. The weather is way too hot, nowadays.
For all make up beginners, you will be needing a foundation to go along with this loose powder. But of course, if you prefer powder over liquid foundation + powder, use a pressed powder.

Secondly, Healthy Minerals Pressed Powder, 13.5g RM25.90
Ultra-fine and silky, minerals texture and great for touchups all day long.

3 out of 7 days, I use a pressed powder for my makeup routine. There is going to be days I will be running late or feeling extremely lazy for the whole process so it's safe to say a pressed powder is a holy grail for a fuss-free, simple yet effortless look. My boyfriend can never stand waiting for me doing my makeup so often I would be rushing out of the shower, apply moisturizer, serum and apply pressed powder before he rings the doorbell. The rest of the process, I will be doing in the car/bus/train or sometimes in a restaurant. What's amazing about pressed powder is that you can use it for quick touch ups or you want an extreme light-weight makeup for few hours. I get it how we get carried away with distractions and you wouldn't want your boyfriend/husband/friend/family member to be pissed while waiting, right?

Color: Sand Beige

Like I said, it promised to deliver the silk texture that is very useful for me as I have color correcting issues, my forehead is extremely tanned while my cheeks are much fairer. But since I got this pressed powder the wrong color, one shade darker so I would save it when I actually get tanned. Although it provides with a sponge, I use my softest blush brush to apply only on my forehead and under the concealed area. You really don't need that much of makeup so embrace your natural self or fake it like I do (to look radiant not cakey duhhh!)

Now when choosing any foundation/pressed powder/concealer, never I repeat NEVER judge your skin tone based on your hands because your face and hand skin tone is never the same unless you're an animated cartoon series. Its texture is not thick but it does medium coverage. I would still use it even if it's a shade darker but like I said, I just apply on my forehead and areas that I have concealed only.

Lastly, Healthy Minerals Liquid Foundation, 30g RM29.90
Lightweight, breathable formula with pure mineral pigments, anti-oxidants and Vitamin E for a radiant,
natural finish.

When you want a flawless look, use a foundation. Sometimes it takes more to look less so if you are like me who require a minimum 10 hour makeup resistance, foundation is very essential on looking flawless. Most of us think what's the whole purpose of foundation right? It is a tool of correcting/balancing your skin color or create a perfect canvas before applying a loose powder to set your face for an entire day.

Color:Nude

Now anti-oxidants is a good element of protecting our skin from cellular damage but I  feel like my face turn more brown/dark when I used this. Since this is all minerals product, there are chances you will have the same reaction as me but trust me, all of these can be prevented. To solve this scenario, I use Benefit's POREfessional as my primer. I really love this foundation because it gives me this glow so nice that I look so effortless and I only need so tiny of it for my entire face. Although I use M.A.C studio finish concealer, it did not crease on my undereyes so I am very glad they mix and match well.

The downfall of this product that it will not work well with humid weather. But with a good primer and finishing powder (or I would call a loose powder) and a setting spray, your makeup will not go cakey.  I enjoy this foundation the most compare the two as it gives me this glow-y look and worth the price. At 30g, I am sure it can be used for 3 months and more.

Overall, I would say this a great product equals affordable price. I am all on student's budget yet looking amazing. You can't find anywhere this kind of price so I would give thumbs up on this collection. Each time someone gives a a compliment how did I manage to look so radiant, I would be glad to introduce this. The downfall is the colors they offered is very limited (3 colors only) and it sucks if you can't find the perfect foundation as M.A.C. or Benefit but I think they only cater for Asian women so yes it sucks! They do have a line for their blushers coming up next month but I was disappointed that all of its colors were the same as before I wouldn't be purchasing any.

Here are the aftermath,

Using : Benefit POREfessional primer, All of Skin Goodness Minerals foundation and loose powder, Stay Not Stray eye primer, Urban Decay Naked Palette 3, Benefit Hoola Bronzer, NYX powder blush in Pecan and The Body Shop lip balm with lychee flavor.

Till then,
Stay Gorgeous !

Have you ever wanted to get colorful highlights but your parents wouldn't agree and you couldn't commit to something permanent/last more than 3 weeks? I admit it's fun to be young and hippie and YOLO but being brought up by strict parents who tolerate no-nonsense and stuff can be really tough to get their approval. My mom is okay but anything but full on pink/purple hair but my dad is pretty Asian so I often go behind his back and dye my hair, which wasn't a smart move but he got over it somehow. The past few years, dip dye, colorful highlights are in the trend for so long that it's no surprise you see brands offering dip dye diy kit and cheap hair chalks being sold even at Daiso! FYI I am very conscious of what I put on my body/face/hair and China brands hair chalk is very risky thing to choose so I am so glad my favorite vegan brand, The Body Shop has a Limited Edition range of Hair Chalk for Spring 2014!

When I was in Singapore, I passed by The Body Shop and I saw it was on the shelf - I quickly went in and saw, 'hair chalk' OMG I HAD TO HAVE IT!!! The assistant was surprised because she asked me what was I looking for and I said, 'so this is a hair chalk (dumb move, Mich!) and it's only 9.90SGD each. I had a tough 5 seconds to decide whether to get Tickle Me Pink or Falling For Blue but I had to get them both so yeah it took me 1 minute to just buy stuff, I often do quick shopping so I would never go out with anyone that takes hours and hours to decide one outfit.

The package is so adorable, at the back it tells you the instructions and even provided pictures.
Its' only 5g so I think it would last for at least 5-6 uses.
No smell, thank god! It will stain your hands if you don't use a mask but with soaps, it can be removed easily.
The application is superb easy, you don't need to 'wet' your hair at all! However, you will need to use a cloth to cover your hair to avoid the excessive powder on your clothes.

I tried for the first time and I love it so much that it really shows so well that it looks effortless.
If your hair is blonde, light brown - the pink will appear as light pink, blue will be baby blue.
If your hair is jet black, the pink will appear as violet/purple and the blue will be navy/striking blue.

Second try - the blue will appear pretty well so don't fret if your hair is as jet black as mines but like I said, the pink will appear as purple/violet.

Here are the steps :

Number #1 : Separate your sections well and where you would like to color your hair. Use a cloth to cover your clothes if you are wearing white/ not wanting to make a mess on your clothes duh!

Number #2 : Use your thumb to rub the hair chalk downwards* You will see the colors to appear visible.
If you don't get the meaning, I suggest you checkout for TBS video on YouTube

My sister requested for pink and blue so here's the aftermath

Lastly, seal this hair with a hairspray.
It wouldn't last long if you don't/sweat but it is really fun to give yourself a vibrant look for a fun day and all.

Verdict :

#1
Things can get messy because it's powdery, your shirt may stain and it will be inconvenient for functions.

#2
It is 5g but ...

My pink hits the pan already :(

It wouldn't last for the whole day in a humid country so a hairspray is a lifesaver!
Price wise, 9.90SGD is very afforable. I'm not sure whether Malaysia has it but I sincerely do hope so.
It is easily removable, just shampoo and you're done.
It's a limited edition product but I pray The Body Shop would make it permanent and have more colors.

Would I repurchase it? Yes!

If you have any questions, do leave a message :)

p.s. this was not being sponsored by The Body Shop.

Most of the bloggers/vloggers I know have their monthly favorites but with a student's budget, I cannot splurge so much in a month. Then again, I will splurge if it's a necessity and that doesn't happen often I can assure you. Although I would not be doing a monthly favorites for every single month but I will keep blogging for reviews/events/social stuff. Whilst typing this, I can't believe it's already February! Like what?
2014 passed way too fast, I am savoring every moment.

Lush Snow Fairy shower gel in 250g

Personally, I am more of a soap fan considering how much I prefer being lathered up than using liquefied shower gel. But I will make an exception for Snow Fairy. It smells heavenly like bubble gum and it's in pink! I don't often come across a shower gel that smells heavenly, has sparkles of glitter and in pink which made me had to have it. It is a limited edition shower gel so it is sold only during Christmas. Imagine you run out of your favorite essentials and you have to wait for another Christmas to get it? Yep, very dreadful.
I got this shower gel for 30% off! It was originally 25sgd so after the discount, 17.50sgd. Of course it would be so pricey to state it in MYR but yes, I am a gullible woman who pays RM43.75 for a shower gel.
Kill me already, if you must hahahah what a pun.

The instruction was really funny that I showed to my boyfriend, he laughed and said, 'Are you inviting me to shower with you?'. Right, who would want to shower with you anyway? Its' bottle is 100% recycled so do recycle once it's finished.

If you read my posts earlier, I purchased a 100g of its shower gel to give it a test and paid 12sgd. I regretted for not waiting for their clearance sales but oh well, what a way to spoil myself for Christmas. My sister and I enjoyed it so much that she used mine once in a while for some glitter. Unfortunately, the glitter got stucked at the bottom so I had to stir it up. Deep down, Lush has been my recent favorites whether it's their face products, hair, body products. I can not say no to Lush unless my aunt stops me from buying. She's always righteous but you know me, I am a spendthrift bitch.

Overall, I love the shower gel. I would recommend to girly girls but if you are up for a budget, cross up Lush from your list.

Etude House Oh My Goodness Dry Shampoo, 50ml

I have never tried a dry shampoo left alone bothered to because I wash my hair daily and my hair gets major oily if I don't. But luckily, Etude House is having buy 1 free 1 so I thought why not? I have been wanting to give it a try since forever but most of the time it's sold out or I was better off with a good shampoo.
With just 50ml, it can only last me no more than 5 times of usage. Its scent is very sweet and non-powdery yet liquid content but it only manage to last for a few hours. I will not purchase this as I said earlier, I am better off with a good shampoo.
Price : RM59.90

The Body Shop Rainforest Shine Shampoo, 400ml

Speaking of a good shampoo, I have been using Sodium Laurent Sulphate free shampoo since December and I do find great improvement. At first, I was complaining how dry and unhealthy to a hair expert cum hair oil maker, Mina Rosli (you can search for her through instagram) and she gave me a few advice on how to take care of my hair and one of the things is avoid shampoo that has SLS. If you look at drugstore shampoos, 99.99% contains SLS. It was so hard to look for shampoos without it but I stumbled upon The Body Shop. The first thing comes in my mind was, 'THEY HAVE SHAMPOO?'. Mind blown and ordered the minute I saw it online. And because I didn't know they have two sizes, I bought the small one, 250ml priced RM45.00. I have used it and one thing I have noticed that without SLS, the texture of the shampoo is non-foamy, slightly thicker than water texture and it's colorless.
I do find great improvement over my hair and the downside was really expensive.

But I do use shampoo with SLS once a while to remove excessive oil from my hair. It smells so good that I don't feel disgusted after a while and it still creates a partial bubbles but not as foamy/bubble-like than SLS shampoo. Overall, I find it wonderful that I bought a bigger size : 400ml for RM69.00
I do use hair masks and hair oil weekly, just so you know.
If you could find a shampoo without SLS an affordable price, do let me know.

The next item, Lush Santa Lip Scrub, 25g

What really made me buy a lip scrub? I honestly don't know. I use lip balm essentially for my chapped lips but I heard so much about how a lip scrub does more wonders and it's all au natural products? I wasn't keen on getting the original flavors such as Bubblegum, Popcorn and Mint Julip but I made an exception for Santa's. It's flavor is cherry cola and gosh the joy of eating them up after scrubbing onto your lips (what am I saying?). Price wise, IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING CHEAP FOR A BLOODY LIP SCRUB!!! It's 20sgd which is equivalent to RM51.70 so yeah it's really pricey if you actually convert. In my case, just don't because you paid the price to shop in Singapore.

The texture is not too harsh and as I said, smells so good tastes so good. It leaves your lips slightly flushed pink and I do find the price very hefty for a lip scrub considered they use all natural ingredients so I guess I should just shut up and let them take my money.

Last item, Avon Absolute Lipstick Collection

This collection has a huge selection ranging from the usual pink to creme tone and red, maroon etc. Why is it called an Absolute collection? It is a new formula that has collagen formula that gives your lips the extra moisture yet leaves your lips soft afterwards. I really wanted to get another lipstick but my mom said I have way too many red and plump colors and insist I get a nude lipstick. I couldn't resist. What's life without lipsticks, right? As for the price, it's RM21.90 for each. It's not too expensive and as usual, I would check for its ingredients ... no paraben was used so you can calm your tits.
Out of so many possibility choices,  I have chosen Smooth Plum and Caramel Comfort.

Being swatched,

It's very creamy but the plump stains onto my entire hand when I tried to rub it off so I really would recommend using a brush when applying onto your lips because things get too messy. Since it's a moisturizing lipstick, it won't really last long so you have to reapply it.

And that's that.
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

x, M
