Lipsticks are my recent favorite ever since I grew apart from lip gloss. Within a short period, I manage to purchase more than a dozen of lipsticks (some were given).
But a girl can't have too many lipsticks, right?
But I will not make a whole review of my entire lipstick collection.
Instead, I will be listing my top 10 most used lipsticks throughout December.

I can't really choose my Top 1 or whatever as I love them all so equally that they are like my babies. I love purchasing lipsticks from all sorts of brand so it really depends on the quality or finishes for me to like/love and be convinced. There are days I want a peach look or nude but on some days, I bring in the darker shades to reflect my mood.

Here are the swatches :

Under flash -

Under normal light -

M.A.C Russian Red ; Matte finish
This is a universal red for everyone and it is blue-toned which makes your teeth whiter. Even though it's matte but it is so creamy and non-drying at all. I would choose this over Ruby Woo.

M.A.C Kinda Sexy ; Matte finish
It is a nude-pink shade which I purchased it because I wanted a nude but not too pale nude and it seemed perfect. Sometimes I apply the littlest amount for a hint of color

M.A.C Impassioned ; Amplified finish
It is a hibiscus pink that I didn't purchase but was given by a friend. Normally, I don't enjoy pink lipsticks but this is quite subtle that I do apply little amount as a tint to class and it gives me that natural flush. Love the amplified finish that it's quite moisturing.

Yves Saint Laurent #13 Le Orange ; Rouge Pur Couture collection Satin finish
To be honest, I didn't choose this color but it was bought by my brother and surprisingly I love the color. It is so creamy and moisturising PLUS it smells like fruity-ish. This may be quite pricey but I wouldn't mind purchasing it for the quality.

N.Y.X Snow White ; Satin finish
It's somewhat like a dark brown-red but it is so beautiful! It is very pigmented even with just 1 swatch so I would recommend if you want to go darker reddish brown and it doesn't put a hole in your pocket.

Avon Hot Pink ; Satin finish
This reminds me of purple-pink but not as light as lilac but still! I would say it gives a very creamy finish but not very long-lasting.  Overall, I don't mind re-applying every single time it fades anyway.

Avon Matte Merlot ; Matte finish
This shade reminds me of burgundy-red and I love how it compliments my yellow, olive-skintone. It looked so scary on the tube but rest assure it isn't. Moreover, it is quite affordable as well.

Avon Berry Smooch ; Totally Kissable Collection in Satin finish
This lipstick collection is by far my most favorite lipstick ever that I purchased 4 shades from this collection alone.  I would describe it as hot purple berry but not too overempowering. It's very moisturising, creamy and more importantly, it is very pigmented as well.

Avon Red Embrace ; Totally Kissable Collection in Satin finish
The only reason I purchased this is because it was reviewed by Teen Vogue (surprise! surprise!) and I thought, WHY NOT? It is a bright orange-red more on the warmer tones. It's so affordable as well so I would highly suggest you checkout this color.

Avon Make Out Red ; Totally Kissable Collection in Satin finish
This lipstick was given by my mom because she thought this color would suit me. It actually did. It is described as a pink-red but more on the rose-pink. If I am feeling girly that day, I would slapped on this lipstick.

That's all for my blog review! I hope this helps :D

Till then,

I have always loved beautiful packaging make-up palettes so much that I couldn't pass the opportunity when Avon had just created Over Nature collection that was inspired by orchid flower. I am unsure whether it was inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year in Radiant Orchid but I see a resemblance.

The palette comes in two shades : Garden Voyage and Ocean Flower, 4.8g
RM39.90 each

Left:Garden Voyage, Right:Ocean Flower

It is consists of 3 eye shadows, 2 blushers and 1 highlighter.
The packaging is somewhat unique and for its' affordable price, I am sure they will be a fan favorite among Avon customers.

Garden Voyage

If you love purple eye shadows, you will love this. I am sure this is much more of night look palette.
I was very excited and swatched it and was quite surprised how pigmented were they.
But the lilac eyeshadow was slightly chunky with glitters than the color itself.

Swatched;

All of the colors came out well that you will still need an eye primer if you live in humid places like me. The lighter shades tend to wear off faster be warned.

Since both of the palettes come in the same blush colors, I find it odd. But the blushers were something.  It's so pigmented and I like how the pink isn't overly in-your-face pink but still subtle for a pink flush.
If you don't know me already, I love peach blushers! This was no exception ; I love how pigmented, matte and more importantly PEACH! If I don't need a make up palette, I would buy it for the blusher.

Ocean Flower

This eyeshadow reminds me of a the sea and sand because you have a sky blue eye shadow and shimmering gold, champagne and another cool tone green-blue shade.
If you are looking for a go-to palette for day, this will be it.

This palette, however, wasn't too pigmented as the former. Nonetheless, they have a lovely selection of shades and how you can mix and match whether it's for a day or night look.

Overall,
I do enjoy using these palettes as they're so versatile but if I have to pick one, I would choose Garden Voyage. It's shimmer on the eyes shadows but completely matte on the blushers so I find it a good contrast here as you wouldn't want full on glitter on your face, right?
A great investment for makeup beginners and those who would collect beautifully packaged palettes.

Since I was given the opportunity to review these wonderful products, I am definitely going to keep the Garden Voyage myself.

Till then!

Being a lipstick junkie, I have been collecting the same shade of colors for quite a while. It's always been nude or dusty rose or brown.
You know it takes a whole lot of confidence to pull off an bold lip color?
One day, there's a new shipment came with samples of lipsticks. I was so excited because I have always wanted to try a red/dark/unusual lip color other than in my comfort zone. I applied immediately and went, "whoaa!" and felt slightly uneasy over the new look. To top it off, people who saw were like, "what a daring color you got there!",  "it's so dark", etc. Of course they are some who were being lovely (rather polite) and compliment how beautiful the color is. Some even did a double-take to ensure they weren't colorblind.
It really bothered me because my level of esteem was so low that it sunk into a whole new level of low.
But what bothered me most was how celebrities and even Lorde being pale as ever pulling off a dark lippie without breaking a sweat. It's such a wonderful trend and I was in dire of new color. We are young, we shouldn't be judged over our hair color/lipstick/tattoos or anything.

When Avon Cosmetics came up with this amazing Totally Kissable lipstick range last year, I was swoon!
Knowing Avon hardly produces dark shades and I guess I was lucky enough that they have included the darkest shade I have ever encountered and of course, I made the bravest decision to pick the darkest violet/purple shade called Deep Orchid

Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick.
Comes in 10 shades, size 3g
Price RM23.90

Description : Its' a full coverage lipstick with conditioning color infused with fruit enzymes and a blend of natural oils for lips that are visibly fuller, softer and smoother.

It looks matte-satin but once I swatched it on my lips, it has a hint of creme and glossy finish. Not a problem for me as I find matte lipsticks tend to dry my lips and I like a little gloss and shimmer lippie as I prefer matte on my eyeshadows.
I find it really moisturizing and highly pigmented that I need just 1 or 2 coats of it to achieve this bold look.
HOWEVER it has a weak staying power. I usually do two coats then press against a tissue to remove the excessive moisture.
But for the record, it doesn't smear as bad as NYX Round Lipstick.
I love the texture that I bought another 3 colors from the collection.
The scent reminds me of coconut oil which isn't too empowering but you won't smell it once you apply it to your lips.

The packaging is in mirror reflective form and I would say it's by far the classiest packaging they had over the years.
But it is tad annoying as it gets dirty easily with your thumbprints, smudges, etc.

I find this color is suitable whether you are white, tan or even tan skinned.
If you are uncomfortable with it, I suggest you try them beforehand. It's a very rich color and for its' affordable price, it's worth every cent. You might want to consider using lip liner or lip brush or both if you want a precise or fuller lips. I often opt for small lips with dark colors.

+ I use a lip brush first then apply the lipstick on my lips for an overall finish.

And the aftermath,

It is so hard to smile with a dark lipstick, I look like crap so I decided to make a fool of myself. That's what life's all about, right?

And if you are still scared of getting a dark lipstick, you can always stick to fushia.

Fall in love with Minerals again. Avon has done it again with their new range of Skin Goodness Minerals collection that consists of foundation, pressed powder and loose powder.
The question would be : What is the difference with an average foundation?
It is 100% naturally derived nutrient-rich mineral blend such as vitamin-enriched formula that helps to provide buildable coverage while letting your inner beauty shine through. It is even better that it has better sun protection and better coverage. With formulation of Amethyst and Malachite, the Skin Goodness Minerals helps to improve skin clarity. Within a week, your complexion will look healthier and more radiant without makeup on.
Best part is that it is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive ones.

A few years ago, they had a range of it too except a loose powder foundation, blushers and eye shadows. Now they have expand with foundation, loose powder, pressed powder and blushers.

FYI I have a combination skin, I have no reaction to whatsoever brand (thank goodness!) and I thought the description gave me a slight of hope to improve my skin to look more radiant in a week so yeah - why not?

The first is the Healthy Minerals Loose Powder, 6g RM29.90
Blend for a fresh, flawless matte look.

Color: Light Ochre

When I first observed the loose powder, it's very shimmery and the texture is so fine as they promised. I was slight worried about its' coverage since it's extremely fine and it freaking has shimmer so I was worried my face will have a shine-fest! I am always a matte person so I tolerate none whatsoever.

Look at this! It's so gold-ish hue and for a minute I thought I am going to use a gold eye shadow all over my face but once you blend all over, you will see a matte look as promised. Pictures will be at the end. Coverage-wise, medium because I am living in a humid country and most of the time, my makeup melt after a few hours but yesterday I tried walking in the sun for the whole day : It did not just melt but I had to blot as I was sweating all urgh. The weather is way too hot, nowadays.
For all make up beginners, you will be needing a foundation to go along with this loose powder. But of course, if you prefer powder over liquid foundation + powder, use a pressed powder.

Secondly, Healthy Minerals Pressed Powder, 13.5g RM25.90
Ultra-fine and silky, minerals texture and great for touchups all day long.

3 out of 7 days, I use a pressed powder for my makeup routine. There is going to be days I will be running late or feeling extremely lazy for the whole process so it's safe to say a pressed powder is a holy grail for a fuss-free, simple yet effortless look. My boyfriend can never stand waiting for me doing my makeup so often I would be rushing out of the shower, apply moisturizer, serum and apply pressed powder before he rings the doorbell. The rest of the process, I will be doing in the car/bus/train or sometimes in a restaurant. What's amazing about pressed powder is that you can use it for quick touch ups or you want an extreme light-weight makeup for few hours. I get it how we get carried away with distractions and you wouldn't want your boyfriend/husband/friend/family member to be pissed while waiting, right?

Color: Sand Beige

Like I said, it promised to deliver the silk texture that is very useful for me as I have color correcting issues, my forehead is extremely tanned while my cheeks are much fairer. But since I got this pressed powder the wrong color, one shade darker so I would save it when I actually get tanned. Although it provides with a sponge, I use my softest blush brush to apply only on my forehead and under the concealed area. You really don't need that much of makeup so embrace your natural self or fake it like I do (to look radiant not cakey duhhh!)

Now when choosing any foundation/pressed powder/concealer, never I repeat NEVER judge your skin tone based on your hands because your face and hand skin tone is never the same unless you're an animated cartoon series. Its texture is not thick but it does medium coverage. I would still use it even if it's a shade darker but like I said, I just apply on my forehead and areas that I have concealed only.

Lastly, Healthy Minerals Liquid Foundation, 30g RM29.90
Lightweight, breathable formula with pure mineral pigments, anti-oxidants and Vitamin E for a radiant,
natural finish.

When you want a flawless look, use a foundation. Sometimes it takes more to look less so if you are like me who require a minimum 10 hour makeup resistance, foundation is very essential on looking flawless. Most of us think what's the whole purpose of foundation right? It is a tool of correcting/balancing your skin color or create a perfect canvas before applying a loose powder to set your face for an entire day.

Color:Nude

Now anti-oxidants is a good element of protecting our skin from cellular damage but I  feel like my face turn more brown/dark when I used this. Since this is all minerals product, there are chances you will have the same reaction as me but trust me, all of these can be prevented. To solve this scenario, I use Benefit's POREfessional as my primer. I really love this foundation because it gives me this glow so nice that I look so effortless and I only need so tiny of it for my entire face. Although I use M.A.C studio finish concealer, it did not crease on my undereyes so I am very glad they mix and match well.

The downfall of this product that it will not work well with humid weather. But with a good primer and finishing powder (or I would call a loose powder) and a setting spray, your makeup will not go cakey.  I enjoy this foundation the most compare the two as it gives me this glow-y look and worth the price. At 30g, I am sure it can be used for 3 months and more.

Overall, I would say this a great product equals affordable price. I am all on student's budget yet looking amazing. You can't find anywhere this kind of price so I would give thumbs up on this collection. Each time someone gives a a compliment how did I manage to look so radiant, I would be glad to introduce this. The downfall is the colors they offered is very limited (3 colors only) and it sucks if you can't find the perfect foundation as M.A.C. or Benefit but I think they only cater for Asian women so yes it sucks! They do have a line for their blushers coming up next month but I was disappointed that all of its colors were the same as before I wouldn't be purchasing any.

Here are the aftermath,

Using : Benefit POREfessional primer, All of Skin Goodness Minerals foundation and loose powder, Stay Not Stray eye primer, Urban Decay Naked Palette 3, Benefit Hoola Bronzer, NYX powder blush in Pecan and The Body Shop lip balm with lychee flavor.

Five things that I love and loved

I have been wanting to post products that I love besides Benefit Cosmetics. Most of the time, I only spend once a month or two to get new products or buying up used up ones so I am still not a certified makeup junkie. As promised an afforable range of cosmetics/products that I would go for/use daily. In fact, most of these products are my daily wear.

Item 1, Avon Ultra Rich Lipstick (available in 16 shades) RM21.90
I only picked out 3 out of 16 shades because I often use lip balm/lip gloss so lipsticks are some days that I feel like getting dolled up or so. I would recommend this lipstick as it's afforable and satin/shimmer in certain shades.

Item 2, Avon Mega Effects Mascara in Blackest Black, RM29.90
I have blogged about it and this is still one of my favorites because I like the whole wonder brush thing which is really new and fun. It is quite similar to Benefit's They're Real except it's less clumpy, doesn't dry as fast as the latter and more affordable, duh.

Item 3, Avon Smooth Minerals Eyeliner in Black Noir RM10.90
Every girl needs a black eyeliner whether its in a stick form/liquid or pencil. I would recommend this eyeliner as it lasts long and easy to glide on. Thumbs up!

Item 4, Avon Ideal Luminous Blush in Peach RM21.90
This, by far, the best blusher I have encountered besides Estee Lauder and what I like about this blusher is that it's satin so not too shimmery on your face and last way longer Coralista. I really love Coralista but it failed to last and I don't like re-applying every 2-3 hours.

Item 5, Urban Decay's Naked Palette 2 RM189
Every Youtube Makeup Guru owns at least one of the Naked Palettes or both but I guess I couldn't just simply splurge another RM189 for a palette which will take me a very long time to even finish one. I have never come across finishing an eye shadow palette unlike blushers and lipsticks. That is probably why I have stopped buying eye shadow palettes for sometime now. This is one of my favorites although NOT a travel-friendly packing. I am still contemplating whether to get Naked Basics till now. How tempting.

I guess that's all for now. I will be blogging about Little Love Potions soon so do stay tuned !

x, M

Being a makeup junkie, I love trying new products whenever it fits into my budget. Things that I would often splurged would be on eye palette or face products such as compact powder, primer, blusher/bronzer as they tend to build a foundation on your face before you even dabbed on eyeshadow onto your lids. One of the things that I will never splurge on is mascaras. Why? Newsflash! They have the least resistant among other makeup products, some of them only last up to four or six months depending on its texture and brand. Don't get me wrong, it is okay to splurge on them if you feel like your lashes deserve the best but I would not. The best part of mascaras is that you get to try something new whether it's a different brand or a newly-launched mascara with a better formula or maybe you can restock the mascara that you really love.
This mascara, however, is pretty different from your regular mascaras.

Avon's Mega Effect Macara is making a name of its own on the cosmetic range. I am not sure whether other brands will come out the same thing but I certainly hope they don't - it's so unoriginal, to say the least.

This tiny little mascara was somewhat too small for my liking at first, I was slightly worried about holding it and applying it onto my lashes like I said it was tiny. As you received it, it will be tricky to remove the Wonderbrush. You kind of need to wiggle side to side in order not to ruin the whole mascara and the texture. It took me 2 minutes to remove this bad boy so if you are experiencing it for the first hand, it is not rocket science.

When i remove the tube, I was amazed over the brush most as it can pretty much cover up all the hard angles of lashes especially those inner corners of the lashes which is great because I always have a hard time doing that unless the brushes are super tiny and it won't hurt my eyes. You will find it hard to use at first but be patient, trying using it a couple of times to get a hang of it.

I practically applied three coats on the pictures above. I actually feel glad they invent the brush that allows us to separate our lashes easily compare to most mascaras which I often have to endure the clumps after 3 coats. It gives me this clean, long, volumized lashes without the help of mascara curlers. Although I accidentally poke my eyes for the first time using the brush and rant how I wouldn't want to use it ever again, I gave in and love it. But it takes a minute or two to dry off which I think I can live with it.

Pros
- Creates a voluminous look after applying 2-3 coats
- It tackles my inner corners of my lash line
-  It did not smudge after a long day
- Affordable, RM29.90
- A very travel-friendly kit to carry on

Cons
- Not a waterproof mascara
- It's really wet so you need time to let it dry slightly before applying again
- It might poke your eyes at first
- Too small to handle
- You may have trouble opening it for the first time

Have a great weekend
